EIA: Big drop in gasoline inventories as refiners purge winter spec gasoline

GasBuddy Blog -- The Energy Information Administration released its weekly report on the condition of petroleum inventories in the United States today.

Here are some highlights:

CRUDE INVENTORIES:
Crude oil inventories increased by 2.8 million barrels to a total of 365.2 million barrels. At 365.2 million barrels, inventories are 5.9 million barrels above last year (1.6%) and are above the upper limit of the average range.

GASOLINE INVENTORIES:
Gasoline inventories decreased by 4.3 million barrels to 217.6 million barrels. At 217.6 million barrels, inventories are up 8.0 million barrels, or 3.8% more than last year. Here's how individual regions and their gasoline inventory fared last week: East Coast (-2.0mb); Midwest...

Gas is still dropping here, but I expect it to go up today, seven days after last increase. A few stations went up yesterday, but no one else followed.

Really. Evidence of adequate domestic supply and low domestic demand. Also evidence of totally failed domestic energy policy by the HO administration.

The gas refineries that have closed down so they can get more money for fuel is an outrage and governments need to stop the practice of mutilation of fuel.
